Moon Drum Circles

I run drum circles to build communities of rhythm.  By providing time and space for people to come together and explore drumming in a welcoming environment I aim to provide an opportunity to experience the joy and excitement as well as the peace and calm that can come from drumming in a group. These are creative sessions, open to all regardless of knowledge and experience where people can experiment with rhythm, listen and respond to one another and develop their relationship with drumming.

I always offer some basic tuition around technique for hand drums mainly to help people play safely and comfortably but other than that these are not taught sessions.

I schedule the sessions according to the full and new moons so they always take place on different days of the week and dates in the month and so that we can all enjoy the energies of these transitional moments in the lunar cycle.

If you'd like to attend please text or Whatsapp me on 07957209930.

Sessions cost £10 per person.

Arrival from 6.45pm for a 7pm start until 9pm.

Teas, coffees and biscuits are provided.

Putting your awareness on drum rhythms being played in a group and then responding to these with your own rhythms - exploring how to fit  into what you can hear around you - it can lead to a feeling of absorption; a kind of loss of self awareness, intense focus but a cessation of the chattering in the mind. When I get into this process while staring at a fire it takes me to a very calm place. For me, it's a way of accessing a state of flow, helping me get out of my own way and opening a space in my mind where ideas can spontaneously arise... or not. I love the feeling of trance that playing drums in a group can cause to arise.
